Spashal

Spashal is a retro vertical shooter by MrRar, presented with a deliberately period-accurate look - a scrolling marquee ticker, a logo banner and keyboard shortcuts advertised in plain text across the top.

Gameplay is a straightforward vertical shooter: fly up the screen, clear the waves, and watch your score climb. What is unusual is the shell around it - the game ships with working pause, menu, screenshot and full-screen buttons, plus a debug HUD, all keyboard-driven with P, M, Q and F. It is a fork of KrofDrakula's Squirts with the same source, so it is best played for its presentation rather than for anything the original did not do.

How to Play

1. Fly up the screen and shoot the incoming enemies.
2. Use the on-screen buttons or the advertised shortcuts for pause, menu, screenshot and full screen.
3. Survive the waves and beat your score.

Tips

Use the screenshot key rather than a browser extension. It captures the canvas at its native resolution, so the marquee and HUD are included and the result is not cropped by the page viewport.
